Garry has a long record of public service in Erewash, having served as an Erewash Borough Councillor from 1999 to 2023 and for 12 years as a member of Derbyshire County Council.
Garry lives in Draycott and remains actively involved in his local community as a member of Draycott and Church Wilne Parish Council.
He also has considerable experience as a parliamentary candidate for the Conservative Party, having stood for Parliament in Ashfield, Nottingham East and Gedling, and most recently in Birmingham Perry Barr at the 2024 General Election.
As Vice Chairman Political of Erewash Conservative Association, Garry helps to provide political leadership to the Association and supports its campaigning and electoral activity, drawing on his many years of experience in local government and Conservative politics.
